Project 365: Year 2, Week 1

Well, I'm starting things off just swell. This week you're getting the completely UNedited version of our week. Red eyes and all! 'Cause, y'all? My computer is dying a slow. painful. death. As of yesterday I couldn't even turn it ON. So I'm blogging on hubby's computer, and he doesn't have photo editing software. Plus it runs Windows 7 (bleh), so this whole process is moving sloooowly. (I am SO done with Dell and SO in the market for a Mac.)

Mimi and Da came for a Christmas visit. It was the FIRST time to ever have them come HERE for a Christmas celebration. Of course, Mommy here was all Christmased out by the time they showed up, so we got take-out for supper. The kids took no notice of the food. They only cared about presents. (Shocked?

After a big, late breakfast with Mimi and Da and once naps were over, we took the kids to see Tangled. Cute movie, but the villainess was a little too much for our kiddos. (I'm talking about the oldest ones!) We have to be careful about that. (We weren't careful enough this time.)

They're holding their "tickets," which were hanging on the Christmas tree. They were all so cute because they thought they wouldn't be able to get in without them.  ;)

Our friends who live much too far away (because they never should have moved from Little Rock! hee hee) paid us a wonderful visit tonight. The kids were all being shy with each other for some reason. (It was obviously too long between visits.) We all had so much fun.

Gabe is always drawn to the baby of the family.

Well, it wasn't ALL wonderful, ALL the time...
Awwwww...a lesson in sharing.

Our beloved friends, the Rackleys, came over tonight. They are in the States for only a week and a half more. Then they're off to Uganda. By the way, thank you to those of you who have made a donation to help support them in their Kingdom work. Really, thank you!!! We love the Rackleys and are going to miss them SO much, but it's a beautiful thing God has them doing. Go here to hear (and see!) them tell more about their upcoming move.

I was so busy visiting tonight I only managed to get one picture. This is Benji. He's the kind of kid you just want to BEG to come over and spend time with your sons, because he's kind, smart, and still cool. He played electric circuits with Noah, iPhone with Gabe, and is always SO good with the "baby." He does it all. Well.

(Sorry, Benji. I'll come back and fix your eyes as soon as I can.)

New Year's Eve

This was a weird day. I guess it can best be described as a day of "hanging out." The kids played dress-up, we listened to music, we played with play dough, and then Daddy came home a little after lunch. We were so excited about his presence, that we...............................just hung out some more. We were supposed to go to a party this evening, but we opted to stick around the house instead.

New Year's Day

I was sad to miss Sara's open house today. But our littles needed another down day today. We shopped a tiny bit. (Had the first of many returns to make.) And then napped. Our dear friend came over tonight and played with the kiddos while we went out to dinner with family. But I forgot to take a picture. Oops. Instead, I'll show you my Christmas gifts...since Sara asked what I got.

This "foodie" blogger is one happy gal.

My man did goooooooood. Didn't he?!

So. That's Week One of Project 365 at Sara's. It's a whole new year! Go live it for the Lord!!

  5. Love the foodie toy. I got a crafty toy (or 2 or 3) and will have to include them in my P365's as I use them.

Looks like it was a fun holiday season at your home. Happy New Year!

  9. Ohhhh... an ice cream maker. I have wanted one of those. Please share your recipes.
Funny.... I thought the villain in Tangled was very mild compared to other Disney movies...well, she didn't turn into a big snake anyway. How I miss the days when villains actually scared my boys. Now they like them (aka...The Joker in the Dark Knight.)

  10. Please share your ice cream and sorbet recipes. I have always wanted one of those. Funny.... I thought the villain in Tangled was pretty mild compared to most Disney movies.... well, at least she doesn't turn into a huge snake or octopus. How I miss the days when my boys found villains to be scary.
