Project 356: Week 30 "ballgames, bible clubs, and beach bums"

Sunday, July 17, 2011
We have a group leaving for Costa Rica from our church. They put on a lunch for donations following the service today. It was an authentic Costa Rican meal. Yum!

Then the fam convinced me to make homemade ice cream tonight for dessert. We do love our ice cream around here. I think Gabe liked it a little bit. ;)

Noah and Saylor are doing Backyard Bible Club this week.

Afterwards, they went to play at a friend's house. Don't know why, but the way Saylor was standing made me think about all those old photos of our mothers and grandmothers standing in their front yards wearing cute, little play dresses. (You know, minus the bike, the ADT sign, and the basketball jersey.) But just had to go with my feeling when editing this one. Ha!

And then we took in a Travs game tonight. Well, part of it anyway.

Today I took Saylor to the "haircut place" because she found a ring she wanted there back when the boys got their haircuts before Easter. She'd been earning money by folding laundry for me and had finally saved enough.

She got herself a rock!

Atticus put on his pajama shorts all by himself. *smile*

We spent today hanging out at our friend's pool again. Good thing. Because I was a little "put out" when the people who were supposed to come see our house today called to reschedule. I needed to do some major relaxing after that.  :)

When we got ready to leave, one of the boys told Saylor she could have his stuffed dog. So what did she do the first thing she got home? Made it obviously and decidedly a girl!

Today was the last day of Backyard Bible Club. The kids had so much fun.

Gabriel actually got to attend today, because so many kids were going to be absent. Yay for him! He had a blast.

It was nice, too, for me to have a little one-on-one time with Atticus for a couple of hours.

And then we all had dinner and a bit of night swimming with our good friends!

After running errands and going to the farmer's market, we came home to visit with Poppy, have lunch, and veg. We reclined with Netflix on Daddy's phone.

We had a little Wii golf tournament.

Noah and I did a little Lego-building together.

And then we ran another errand or two. In disguise.
It was an action-packed long week for us. Wonder what the rest of the Project 365 crew has been up to lately. I'll just bet ya they're having fun and capturing it wonderfully with their nice cameras. Me? Well, I don't want to go into any details right now, because I'm just too upset. But my nice camera took a spill at the end of this week. And I'm not sure what it's fate will be. Which means...the point-and-shoot is here to stay for a while. (Boo!) Anyway, happy rest of the summer to y'all!

  1. I am so sorry to hear about your camera's spill. Loved the pictures of the kids this week and it did look like you had quite a busy week. Loved Saylor's bling ring and the girl dog. Looking forward to seeing what you have for us next week.

  2. Boo to the camera spill! It makes me want to be extra careful with ours...

LOVE Saylor's dress on Monday - that is so cute! And her bling & new puppy - she's such a girly girl :)

I'm glad the kids had fun at Bible Club. I remember really enjoying VBS when I was a kid.

But the picture of the week is Atticus's pajama bottoms - that is priceless :)

  6. Aw Man, sorry to hear about your camera. I know I would be struggling immensly.

I build Legos with my boy too when we need a little one on one time. :) Looks like Atticus had the same idea when he had you all to himself.

  7. Wonderful photo memories, even if embarrassing later on (pj's lol).
I have three grandkids here overnight. I should try to get some good shots in the a.m. They'll never be as good as yours, but great memory-builders nonetheless.
You inspire us all with your fun photos!
