Project 365: Week 27

Sunday, June 26, 2011

This little guy was in our house uninvited!

We went to see a local favorite--the Kinders--do a concert at our neighborhood library. We are big fans.

Saylor just happened to get to sing and dance with one of her besties!

The Kinders hold us in rapt attention.

Especially when Brian does the "Mosquito" song.

This is Atticus' reaction after a baby robin kissed him on the nose. Aww...

Noah finally got to watch this movie today. I told him we'd have to read Book 1 and Book 2 in the series first. We finished them both a while ago, but we just now got organized enough to get it in our Netflix queue. He was so thrilled.

I've mentioned before that I order bulk food items from Azure Standard. Well, this is what it looks like when we go for our monthly pick-up. See the glory shining down on this truck full of organic goodness?  ;)

After our 7:15 am pick-up (yeesh!), we had breakfast with visiting cousins.

And fort-building.

And just all-around cute fun.

Our AC went on the fritz yesterday. All day. By the time Paul got home, it was 85! Yuck!! The kids slept upstairs because the bonus room has its own unit, which was NOT on the fritz. Today we called for help. Sometimes you just have to suck it up and pay the $300 it takes to fix a broken condensing fan motor and starting capacitor (blah, blah, blah) to make conditions a little more bearable. *sigh*

We went to see my All-Star nephew play in a T-ball tournament this morning. But because of many and various circumstances, one of which was having to pay admission (Really??!!!) and not having any cash on me, we got there right about the time the boys were doing THIS:

My nephew is the one with the heartbreaking forlorn look on his face. (Just to the left of center.) 'Cause they lost. And 'cause his aunt can't get herself together enough to be there to see it!  :(

Below is my brother (a coach) right smack in the center.

He was one sad little boy. He needed a little father/son talk before coming to see his adoring fans.

So basically, we paid admission to visit with family, hug a way-cute All-Star, and play on a small playground. Here is my nephew with his sister, my kiddos, and two more of his cousins.

We DID have fun.

This morning we made our food rounds to the Farmer's Market, Whole Foods, etc.

It was hot out. So we had to stay cool.

And then my nephew and niece came to OUR house for a visit before heading home after the tournament. It's funny. My little niece was so busy changing clothes with Saylor, I barely SAW her! You can just glimpse a little trail of pink and purple blurring past in this first photo...

The boys were having fun playing multi-player with their DS Lites. Yes, we broke down and let Noah use all of his birthday money on a DS. It was on sale, and he has made some pretty significant improvements on his attitude toward all things school. So he got a shiny, red reward.

So far, it's been a very fun summer! I hope yours has been, too. Be sure to see how the other participants are faring at Sara's Project 365.

  2. So fun! I am jealous of all that fresh, organic food. Its not enough of a priority for me to add the extra into our budget, so I do it vicariously through people like you. :)

  4. I love the pics from the Kinders concert - they're just so cute. I'm sorry, I don't think I would pay to watch t-ballers play ball. Unless it was my own direct t-baller :)

  5. As always I love your kids and the natural pose pictures you manage to get of each of them. You must have a camera hanging around your neck all the time....your photos are so amazing. Thanks for sharing your children with us.
