After a very busy weekend, we found ourselves with not one, but four kiddos feeling under-the-weather this morning. So we were home in jammies having lots of vitamin C, homemade chicken broth, and echinacea all day long.

The kids made butter today after learning about the Dutch pioneers. It's certainly a lot more strenuous to do it this way than Mommy's way--the blender. But they thoroughly enjoyed it. And we ate it on our homemade bread for supper!

This is Gabe and his therapist coming out to the car after his session today. We LOVE this therapist. She is so on top of things, and he always brings home work to show what he's been working on.

After last week's seed hunt, Gabriel has really gotten into finding and collecting acorns. He was carrying them around in his shirt, so I finally got him a container to fill.
He's such a ham these days!

Last night I had an epiphany. (Love it when that happens.) Instead of Mommy folding ALL of these clothes...or asking one child to fold an entire load for money (because it's so much)...when a load comes out of the dryer, I round everybody up, and we all fold our OWN clothes and put them away right then and there!! Atticus is the only exception, but his time is coming...you better believe it. ;)
Would you just look at Gabriel's little face? He is so excited because he has moved up from just folding washcloths and is learning to fold more complicated things. Bless his heart.

My man's team won tonight. And I'm just happy it's over. Ha!
Besides, while he was busy watching the game, I was busy making friends with my Neti pot. Boo!

Gabriel and Saylor play together a lot. I caught them heading off to play "Little House" on this beautiful fall afternoon.
Who can blame them? It's downright inspiring out here!
Okay. Goal this week: Blog at least once DURING the week. And preferably something without the word "Project" in the title. Don't get me wrong, I am completely aware that if it weren't for Sara and her hosting of Project 365, I would never catalog these memories, and I would be so very sad about that. So, thanks again, Sara. But I DO have more to say. And more pictures to share. So I'm gonna try my best. Really. I'm gonna.
I'm glad it looks like everyone is feeling better - except maybe you? Boy your neti pot is a lot nicer than my Walgreens brand one :)
ReplyDeleteIn some of those pictures Gabriel looks just like Noah - if you hadn't said it was him I would have been SURE I was looking at Noah!
looks like a fun week. hope everyone is over the bug and feeling more themselves now.
ReplyDeleteoh, you can see in those kids eyes they don't feel good!
ReplyDeletemy husband was good friends with his neti pot this week too....
great idea about the laundry. my step after that was that when you started HS you completely did your own laundry. So for the last 4 years, I have only been responsible for me and steve! whoot! Plus it's funny to watch them all fight over the washer when they are home from college! ha!
