Project 365: Week 46 "fender, food, and fun"

Sunday, November 6, 2011

I didn't take a real picture today. We even had a friend for lunch, but as usual, I was having too good a time to remember the camera. Once it got dark, though, we went for a little stroll through the neighborhood. I had my phone with me and tried to get a shot of Saylor, because she still asks to hold my hand. Awww...

I know. It's hard to tell much about it. Just imagine it's a painting using pointillism in some trendy gallery.  ;)  It's all about perspective, my friends.

I had had enough with the deficient loner camera the store gave me. By this point it wouldn't even take a single shot!! So, back I went. This time, customer service was much improved, and they gave me an even better camera than my own. (Not a better lens, mind you, but you pick your battles.) The guy took this shot in the store...

and made us a coloring page.  :)

Paul was out of town overnight AGAIN, so I fed my sadness with fried green tomatoes tonight for supper. It worked, too!

Noah had a guitar lesson tonight with a friend from church. He was stoked to get to play on this electric Fender. AND he gets to keep it!! That's what I call a good friend. By the way, his mommy here is trying to learn along with him. We'll see how it goes...

Evidence that Super-Atticus Lives Among Us

Friday, November 11, 2011

I guess Friday is working itself out to be "field trip day," because last week it was the Columbus ships...this week, a farm.

I finally got to have lunch at The Root Cafe, a local eatery priding itself on selling fresh, local, sustainably-grown foods. (REAL food.) My kind of place. It also has a precious garden and is oh, so yum!!

I am once again linking up at Sara's for Project 365. (Be sure to stop by!) Looking back at my photos, my week seems slow. But, I can assure you, it wasn't slow in my brain. Things are working ninety to nothing in this noggin' of mine! Or, as my husband would say, the hamster's running on his wheel. I have SO very much to do this week, it's not even funny. It remains to be seen if I'll actually pull it all off or not. On that note, I've gotta run...

  1. That stuff in our brains is intimidating, isn't it? Looking down at the week it all feels impossible and somehow, what needs to get done, gets done.

A superhero lives it your house?? He looks mighty! :)

I've never tried fried green tomatoes, but I love the movie. :)

Hope your camera situation gets all cleared up soon....not fun being in limbo!

that first picture does look like a painting; kinda weird, but cool at the same time.
I like saylors trendy short haircut. has it always been that way, or did she just get it?

  6. We had a super hero in our house many years ago. (now 18) he use to tell me he had powers in his eyes and get a real tense face like he was trying to show me.

Never had the tomatoes - looks interesting.

Hope you get your camera back soon.

  8. I really like that first picture a lot - it's kind of cool.

I'm proud of you for tackling the guitar. I took lessons in college, but I'm too much of a weenie - I never got my fingertips hardened enough.
