Project 365: Weeks 13 & 14 "it's spring!"

Sunday, March 25, 2012

It was so nice out, we took a walk to the playground late this afternoon.

Saylor, for some reason, enjoys riding Gabe's bike instead of her own sometimes. She was struggling up this hill.

Atticus (aka, The Superhero) immediately offered a solution.

Hilarious.

Then we took over the playground.

SCHOOL SCENES:

Gabriel's Magnetic Pattern Blocks

Today's state is Illinois.

Learning Cursive

Gabriel and His Paints

Saylor's Map of Bible Lands

Tuesday, March 27, 2012

Today we studied about Alabama...and George Washington Carver. Did you know he came up with 118 different uses for the sweet potato? So we had a healthy version (with a coconut crust) of sweet potato pie for dessert tonight. It was a hit!!

Saylor raved and raved. She sounded a lot like her Nana!

This old sun tea jar is being used to soak almonds this week. Nuts, like grains, contain enzyme inhibitors that make it difficult to digest them properly. In fact, it can be downright dangerous for your body. Now I can soak them and put them in my new dehydrator. Yay!

I  buy spices (among many other things) in bulk and store them in jars, etc. Today I dropped a jar full of cinnamon. Ugh. This is what my floor looked like AFTER I swept up all the glass and most of the cinnamon.

Then I took my Norwex dry mop and in one swipe...

There was still some in the grout, but after I brushed out my mop once and came back for another swipe, the grout came clean, too. Love my Norwex mop! And actually, if I'd been using the Norwex Superior dry mop pad, it would have cleaned the grout on the first swipe. If you're not local, you can visit my Norwex website, view products, and even order directly from the site. Items will ship to your home! If you're local, you should totally let me demo at a party you host in your home.

We are camping tonight!

Saturday, March 31, 2012

We camped right next to a little brook, which was of the utmost appeal to all of the kids! Both little boys were drenched before dark last night. And as soon as we finished our breakfast this morning, they were right back in it. They were floating "boats" made of pieces of tree bark.

Our Community Group met at a local park for lunch today. The kids were having entirely too much fun to stop for something as boring as FOOD.

Monday, April 2, 2012

Saylor and Gabriel were playing "horsie" at bedtime. Saylor was saying, "Gee!" and "Whoa!" She learned that from Farmer Boy. Haha!

SCHOOL SCENES:

I sneaked this picture of Saylor retelling a favorite Bible story.

Wednesday, April 4, 2012

Noah slept in our bedroom tonight...and built himself a tent using a sheet from the fort kit I made him for Christmas. He's actually under there.

Thursday, April 5, 2012

The city sent workers out to our house to dig the trench that runs behind our house. It was not as deep as it should be. The boys were loving all the extra dirt piled up in "our woods."

Friday, April 6, 2012

I sent Gabe to get a stick for me. Don't worry, I just wanted Noah to make something with it.  :) He was so proud of himself for finding a good one.

Had a beautiful Good Friday service tonight.

We love our neighbor friends.

Gabriel is collecting boo-boos lately.

Tonight we did a little egg dyeing...

...and Easter Story-telling.

Hope your Easter holiday was a blessed one. He is risen!! Stop by Sara's blog to see everyone's week (or last two weeks, in my case).

  1. Great pics. Glad I'm not the only one who has to post two weeks at times. :-) Love Saylor's Bible land map. Oh I would love to play in that stream with your little boys. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Great pics of your kids having fun. I think I might like that sweet potato pie recipe - we brought some home from daddy's garden & we should probably do something with them!

  3. Your photos just wow me! I would like to take half as good of photos :) I especially like the ones of the boys by the creek. It felt like I could just wade right in!

Your kiddos are so photogenic, too. Great job documenting your days!

    Have a wonderful week :)
