We have this great, really HUGE green belt behind our house. It's sort of a pathway for the deer. They travel back and forth behind our house, and even though we've seen them lots, it never gets old. Most of the time they travel in a group of about fifteen. Yes! Fifteen!! So, you can understand why it's so thrilling when we spot them. This morning there were just two, but they were all the way up close to the house. Of course, the big retaining wall still kept them plenty far off, which made me so mad that I wasn't prepared with the zoom lens on.
This afternoon was filled with Daddy fun.
(Paul was lying on the floor and would hold the kids up over his head, while lightly shaking his arms. The kids like to say, "Uhhhhhh" and then giggle at the vibrating sound it makes. These photos were taken from underneath their little game.)

Saylor and Gabe were playing with these animal puzzle cards today. Saylor was getting a little overwhelmed because there were so many, and she couldn't seem to find the correct word pieces to fit the animal pieces. Then suddenly she realized she could figure some of them out (using some decoding skills she didn't even know she had). Within a minute she had matched up four, and she kept it up, too!

We went to my nephew's birthday party today. He's a St. Patrick's Day baby. So hard to believe he's already five years old! Precious, precious boy.
Sara's Project 365 is where it's at!!!

Waffles sound yummy..a definite thing for me to try soon.
Have a great week!
I always love spotting dear... we occassionaly get deer in our back yard but I have never been quick enough to actually get a picture of them... your picture is amazing!
ReplyDeleteI am saving your waffle recipe... my brand new Kitchen Aid blender broke after the second use so once I get that fixed I will be trying these waffles...
We get deer too -we never see them they just leave evidence. thanks for the recipe.
ReplyDeleteThat magic eraser is the stuff isn't it? Sometimes I think I should get it by the crate (& yes, I'm aware that it's just my husband & me - what can I say? We're messy!).
ReplyDeleteI just love learning games, they take so much pressure off and she had some success...win win!!
ReplyDeleteI love the magic eraser...saved a few walls from turning into a big painting project.
Great pictures, as usual.
Fun week! I have a st. paddy's day baby too...although he turned 10 this year! (tear!) And I heart the magic eraser too!
ReplyDeleteI never get tired of the ducks we have at the park nearby and I see them all the time too so I can relate. Wildlife is just so beautiful to look at, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of soaking waffle batter before. Then again the only waffles I've ever made are Eggo!
Your children are so cute and those giggles are so fun. I love the magic eraser too. It works well on scuffs on the floor. LOve it. Beautiful deer.
ReplyDeleteYour new blog picture is great with the kids in the daffodils. As you know, they are my fav.! Magic erasers are the best. Have a great week...
ReplyDeleteLove the giggles!
ReplyDeleteYour new header is b.e.a.U.tiful!
Just this morning, while I was reading the Bible, the deer interrupted ;) We just had to watch them. I was just saying it's a good thing they don't like daffodils, when one started nibbling at them.
Bridge to Terabithia, have you read the book? I met the author, heard her speak.
Oh my goodness. Those adorable, infectious smiles... I love 'em!
ReplyDeleteLike the new header. Spotting deer never gets old for me, either. I couldn't imagine seeing that many at my house.
