It's the first full week of life without a decent camera. And it stinks. Truly. I'm. so. frustrated. :(

Paul has trained all his children to walk on his back. It's a typical Sunday afternoon activity. Even Atticus knows how.

Y'all. You won't believe it, but the folks who called to cancel their appointment to see our house last weekend had rescheduled to finally see it today...and this time they just didn't show up!
I was infuriated!
I was infuriated!
But since our house was all clean, we ended up having good friends come to dinner and had the best time. The big kids played "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?" (Remember that game?) And Paul and I got to catch up with their parents, whom we love dearly. So, I was feeling much better about it all.
Still. I'm tired of showing the house. Tired.

Today we and several of our friends took in the last free movie of the summer, Despicable Me. It's a family favorite.
I do wish, however, the last line of the movie wasn't "oh, poop," because my youngest just loves potty humor. (LUUUVS it.) And that's what the Davidson crew picks up on and repeats for a week after watching the film. You know. To hear him laugh like this at breakfast the next day:
We also had a little friend come play for a bit this afternoon. Love this funny girl.

We had another house showing today. But all day the kids were just wacky. I thought I would lose my mind. In fact, my Facebook status today was "Right at this moment, I'm thinking Captain von Trapp was on to something with that whistle." Seriously. I finally reverted back to my classroom teacher ways and made them each stand in a designated kitchen tile (...so I could lecture them).
Anyway, the house showing went well, but we still haven't heard back from them. :(
It was a late showing, so dinner was "out."

(That's Gabe's new way of posing for pictures. He thinks that's so funny.)

Today we were hoping to have fun at Bubble Fest downtown. Sounds fun, doesn't it?! Yeah. It wasn't. I think I could have done a better job of creating bubble magic for littles to enjoy. No one could quite get the big bubbles to work.
And this dude kept setting off his "exploding bubbles," which--I'm not joking--sounded like gunshots, amplified under the dome of the Riverfront Amphitheater.
They were not our favorite part.
And then we moseyed on over to the splash fountains in the park. Noah enjoyed them. But that was about it. The others weren't impressed. And to top it all off, I was not feeling well. So, today was sort of a bust.
But. At least Saylor was cute, flitting about in her swimsuit and coverup.

We took it easy today. We played.
And did a little school work. With trucks driving all over our books. That's just the way it is.
Yes. Gabe is wearing the same clothes today as yesterday. Because he has taken to dressing himself. And he has preferences. And he doesn't discriminate between clean and dirty.

We spent much of the day trying to figure out what we were going to do today. And Noah did stuff like this.
Hopefully we'll do more than this today. What about you other Project 365ers? What have y'all been up to this week? Thank you, Sara, for making it possible to keep up with everyone.

I didn't know you really were moving and had your house up for sale! (or if I did know, I forgot... I'm good at that) How many square feet? Bedrooms? Price? Cuz ya know, we're looking :)
ReplyDeletewhat a week! your pictures rally made me laugh; gabes new camer pose, Noah literally climbing the wall (well, the door frame), all of them lined up for their lecture. too funny. so, your crazy hectic week was quite entertaining for me to see, if it's any consolation at all. :-)
ReplyDeleteoh, and I'm having kitchen envy. love those dark counter tops.
I didnt know you are moving. Where are you going? Hysterical week for those of us watching from afar (and after the fact).
ReplyDeleteLove the reaction to the bubble explosions. :)
It must be SO frustrating trying to sell your house! Looks like they needed a few extra bubble lessons at the park, lol.
ReplyDeleteNubbin wiggles,
Oskar
hope you find a buyer soon. looks like you had a fun summer week with your kiddos. exploding bubbles sound interesting, but loud exploding bubbles has little appeal when it's geared towards kiddos.
ReplyDeleteawesome summer pics!
ReplyDeleteI remember climbing the walls at my grandma's house like that and telling everyone I was Spidergirl. Sorry to hear the people checking out your house have been flakes, but God knows the perfect person to buy it, so have patience, they'll come eventually! :)
ReplyDeleteWell your week was entertaining to ME - sorry it had its frustrating times for you. The picture of them lined up is just the BEST. It looks like Saylor was trying to be incognito :)
ReplyDeleteI know that you miss your camera but I think think your pictures are great anyway!!!
ReplyDeleteThe picture of the kids lined up for the lecture cracked me up!!!
and that baby laugh....so sweet!!!
Reading this week's post made me want to whisk you off somewhere fun for a day and give you a little break. We all have weeks like this and I am so glad to know I am not the only one who needs to just take a deep breath somedays and keep on truckin'...all the while asking the Lord to give me Patience. :) We can relate here to spending most of a Saturday trying to "figure out" what we are going to do and then realizing we spent the whole day doing nothing. My girls have figured out the whole wall and door frame climbing thing. Love it! (and I let the girls talk me into getting Despicable Me this week again! and will admit I am glad I did, cause it IS just so cute) I love to hear my six year old laugh all the way through.
ReplyDeleteGreat weeks worth of pictures. I love the tile standing pose. That was adorable.
