After a morning of cooking and cleaning and last minute here and theres, we had a late lunch (or was it an early dinner?? Linner? Dunch? Who knows with these crazy Davidsons...) with some of the Davidson family. These two were completely occupied with Uncle Aubrey's binoculars, which he sent them home with, by the way. Thanks, Uncle Aubrey!!
And then Saylor and I got to church early to do a little sangin'.
I seem to always look like I'm in pain when I sing. Need to work on that, I guess...
Afterwards, there was even time for a little Christmas Eve ping-pong!
Despite the fact that it was much later than Mommy and Daddy would have liked, considering all that still needed to be done, we decided to let the littles open one present before bed.
This was a first for us, but THIS time it was necessary. (Please take note of the lavender t-shirt Saylor is donning for pajamas on this special evening...)
Hmmm...I think we can do better than that!

Merry CHRISTmas!!
Crazy CHRISTmas Candids:
It was a gorgeous day, perfect for trying out new toys outside.
Just ask Spiderman!
Then we let some creative juices flow...
The little boys let Sis get in on the action, too.
I love how this boy "paints."
Poppy spent some time with us today, too, which is always special. I especially loved this moment:

Okay. I have no picture today. I was flat exhausted. I mean...here's what time I woke up, for goodness' sake!!
PM, people!
I am so grateful to have had my husband home so I could do some catching up on some serious ZZZZZzzzzzzs.

We spent pretty much all of today cleaning and getting ready for a house showing. (Y'all, I'm so ready for this to be over...) The good thing about a clean house is that you can see past the clutter to appreciate the beauty. And I just so happen to have some beautiful CHRISTmas things out right now.

Speaking of beautiful CHRISTmas things, we buy our kiddos a new ornament every year to help us remember something significant about them that particular year. Here are the 2011 ornaments:
Noah made a lot of great memories this year playing football with the neighborhood boys.
Saylor thinks pigs are soooo cute. Simply because they're pink. :)
Gabriel gets a boy on a cow holding a canister of milk...'cause the boy loves his milk!
Atticus is into Legos. He's not your average three-year-old. (Duplos would never do.)

Saylor got to go to work with her daddy at noon today.
He even took her out to lunch!

New Year's Eve
Aside from the fact that we showed our house this evening (yes...on New Year's Eve!!), it was a largely uneventful day for us today. We took the kids out for dinner, because the house showing was at 5:00. *sigh*
Poor Noah poked his eye (again!!) on Friday and hasn't recovered yet. Bless his heart.
Then we got them home, read a few stories, played a game of UNO or two, and put them to bed. Only Noah really knew it was New Year's, but even he was exhausted enough to not put up any fights about going to bed. But we did let the big kids start out in our bedroom. Even the Polly Pockets were tucked in nicely on Daddy's nightstand--with a scrap of fabric for covers and tickets for a pillow. ;)
Whew! And that, my friends, wraps up another year in pictures!! It has fLoWn by!!!!! It has been difficult, I'll admit, to keep up at times. But I'm so thankful to have done it. It actually helps me keep a grasp on reality. And encourages gratitude in my heart. Something a busy mommy needs. Thanks again to Sara for hosting another great year! And thanks, whoever you are...wherever you are...,
for reading. ;)
Awesome. congrats on making it one year. I had to drop out in the fall sometime because too much other stuff came up.
ReplyDeleteI love ALL your pictures this week - every single one. So instead of a lot of commenting I'll just say two things:

ReplyDeleteI kind of look like I'm in pain when I sing, too. my husband always tries to make me smile when I'm singing. I'm getting better I think.

I feel very accomplished knowing that I finished another year of Project 365! It looks as though and the fam had a great week...loving the polly pockets all covered up with a blanket on the night stand! My boys (11 & 10) get to open one present on Christmas Eve and they are always matching Christmas jammies! Here is to a very blessed 2012!
