One of Noah's friends down the road invited him to come along with his family to the neighborhood pool. He was so excited!

We started this book today. Noah did NOT want any part of it. You know. 'Cause it has the word "girl" in it. *sigh* At the end of the first chapter, he was quite literally begging me to keep reading. Begging!

We went to our second free movie of the summer this morning. We got there plenty early to ensure we got seats. (I must admit I panicked a little when we drove up and there was a school bus unloading!) But we made it in.
We even had to take our blueberry pancakes along to munch on while we waited for the show to start. (We're such rule breakers.)
Today we saw Ramona and Beezus. Piggy especially enjoyed watching from her special seat in the cup holder.
Later, Saylor got yet another horrible boo-boo playing chase outside with Noah. WHY is it always the girl?? The bruise doesn't really look bad here, but you should have seen it before it had frozen peas on it for 30 minutes! It was a HUGE knot! Hate that.

We went for another movie today. This one was actually a dollar movie. Atticus got in free, so I spent a whole $4 for us to go see Kit Kittredge. Lovely film, by the way.
But whoever thought up this display should be ashamed of themselves. All that fun color! The kids were crazy with excitement. And then they turned their precious squinty smiles my way. And I caved.

Paul left for Dallas this evening for work, so the kids and I went to the library tonight for "Family Art Night." Noah is not in any of these pictures because he was just a little too cool for these activities...in public. ;)

We spent most of the day swimming with our bestest friends today.

Daddy's back home today! Finally. And we're chillaxin'...
with a little painting...
bathing...
playing Iron Chef America...
and tutu-wearing. (Take note of how her bruise has spread--yuck!)
Boy, howdy. It's hot around here. I don't know about the rest of you'uns (that's Strawberry Girl-speak for "you guys"), but down here in Little Rock, Sara and I are sweltering. Be sure to stop by Project 365 to see who's hot and who's not!
Love those first pictures of Noah.
ReplyDeleteWe are about to get hot here, but its been pretty nice. Just think about how awful it would be to live in CT when its cold and snowy Nov 15-Mar 15. Take the heat, trust me! :)
Free movies?? Sounds fun!
I love the book STrawberry Girl. It was one of my favorites to read to my children. Loved the activity pictures this week. Again, Your kids are so precious! The bruise looks bad. I hope it heals quickly.
