Project 365: Week 10

Sunday, February 27, 2011

The bigger three kids were playing outside with the neighbors this afternoon and got invited over for dinner. They had such a good time and, as is usually the case, their mother commented about how well our kiddos ate. What can I say? Davidsons like food.

Monday, February 28, 2011

We did a family art project today using colored water and a paper towel.

They had the best time. It's pretty messy (for the table), so I would never have done this at the kitchen table unless I had many layers of newspaper laid down. But this yellow table can take the abuse and still clean up nicely.

Tuesday, March 1, 2011

Here's the finished product of yesterday's art project. We're ready for spring.

Wednesday, March 2, 2011

This is Saylor and her Zhu-Zhu Pet, which is actually not a Zhu-Zhu Pet. It's a "Furreal Friends," but it's basically the same thing. The boys all have Zhu-Zhus, so that's what she calls hers. She also calls it "Mally," treats it like a baby, and says it eats tiny carrots.

Thursday, March 3, 2011

Gabe joined us at the library following his speech therapy this morning. Our library has this really great computer set up specifically for early literacy experiences. It's perfect for 2-and 3-year-olds. And two sets of headphones makes it nice for these two little guys to play together. Atticus watches and Gabriel uses the mouse to answer the questions.

Friday, March 4, 2011

Breakfast today. It's amazing how putting a same-old, same-old meal in a special dish somehow magically transforms said meal into an exciting treat!

At dance class today, I noticed Saylor's having fun again and is starting to improve. And she's looking pretty cute while she's at it.

Saturday, March 5, 2011

My car was in a "fight" today.

Here's what the other guy looked like:

Now. Who do you think won?? *groan*
No fun.
I'm hoping the rest of you over at Sara's had a better ending to your week than I.

Things Are Crazy But We Have a Winnah

Okay. It wasn't my intention to hold a contest and then not tell you who won it.

But it's been pretty crazy around here.

News tidbit #1: We had a showing. (We're selling our house...for those who didn't know.)

News tidbit #2: The prospective buyers then wanted to have an inspection done. Yay! (Of course, the usual panicked busyness then ensued, including, but not limited to, making the attic passable to the poor hired inspector.) *sigh* Wait. Strike that. *exhausted sigh*

News tidbit #3: I do Precepts Bible studies. And we are studying Colossians right now. And this study is kicking my boo-tay a little bit. (Lots o' work. Good work. But still, lots.)

News tidbit #4: For some reason I've been unmotivated to blog, and I feel the same about using my camera. Maybe I have too much on my mind. Or...not enough. Hmmm...

News tidbit #5: I had a car accident. (Why me???? Again??) So I've been a little tied up over the stress of that.

So that's what's been going on around here. It's cray-zay!!

And that is part of why I am just now getting around to announcing the winner of my giveaway. The other part being that I just didn't get around to it. (Sorry.)

Thanks to those of you who began following The Rackleys on their blog!! That's awesome! I hope more of you will check them out and begin praying for them, supporting them, etc. They are precious, precious, dear friends.

And now................................................how about a winner??

My random number generator chose Rachel!!! Yay!!!!!!!!! Poor thing just had surgery, so I hope this will be good news for her in the midst of a trying time.  :(   She actually had the most entries, too, so for those of you interested in justice, there ya are.  ;)

Rachel, I will be contacting you later today about receiving your prize. Congratulations!! And thanks so much for playing, everyone!

Project 365: Week 9

Okay. So if you haven't entered my giveaway yet, it's not too late!! (Yet.) You have until midnight tonight, so get with it, people!!

Sunday, February  20, 2011

For our family night tonight, we watched a real nail-biter...

It was some kind of intense!

Surprised? ;)

Monday, February 21, 2011

We had our kitchen floors professionally cleaned today with the hopes of helping out the looks of the hopelessly-nasty grout. I'm not sure it was worth it. They people who laid it did a poor job and let the grout set up too quickly, so it's real brittle and grainy and grabs everything, and then they didn't seal it either. We didn't get it nearly as clean as we wanted. But it WAS nice to have someone ELSE clean the floor!

Tuesday, February 22, 2011

Noah got a package in the mail today. He'd been waiting for it for about a week. It's a classic controller for the Wii so he can play old games like Donkey Kong. Boys. I don't get it.

Wednesday, February 23, 2011

A little of our school day back in our school room. It's going well so far. The teacher's enjoying it, so that's a HUGE plus!

Thursday, February 24, 2011

I won these books from Marla Taviano when I posted this response to Your Secret Name by Kary Oberbrunner.

Friday, February 25, 2011

An incredible, sacrificial, wise, loving couple from church offered to come keep our kids tonight so we could go out!! They played games with them and even brought homemade cookies. We love our church family so. very. much. We didn't have grand plans or anything, but we had fun and tried a new sushi place!

Saturday, February 26, 2011

Saylor had a birthday party to attend this morning.

And then we met our community group for a picnic/play date at Pinnacle Mountain State Park.

(He had no idea I was taking these...)

This one cracked me up:

And on the way back to the car, I got to take a walk through the woods with my favorite three-year-old in the whole wide world.

That's the end of Week 9.
Be sure to check on the other participants at Sara's.
And definitely don't forget to enter my giveaway!!
(What have you got to lose??)
