We cut the watermelon today.

It was big.

A storm seemed to be rolling in right after dinner tonight. So we did the really wise thing and went outside. (You have to understand. It was the first time in ages we'd felt an actual coolish breeze!! You take what you can get.) Besides, the sky was so pretty.

We heard some thunder and even felt a few raindrops, but after maybe fifteen minutes, the storm had passed on by. Anyway, I took this picture of the house across the street from us. First of all, it's grossly massive. But doesn't it look creeeepy in this photo?!?

We went to the library for the "celebratory" end of Summer Reading Club. Our library decided to have the kids (who don't know one another) play relay games in the 100-degree weather out on the lawn. My kids aren't stupid. They could see right away this wasn't going to be any fun at all. After just a couple of minutes, they were all begging to go inside and read. Ha! On our way back in, we found a little frog. It was way more fun to observe a hippity-hoppity frog in the shade than to sweat our faces off doing relays! Don't ya think?

Our church hosts a Women's Fellowship once a month. We have dinner together, someone shares her testimony, and then we pray in small groups. I love these ladies!

Friday, July 30, 2010

Tonight we attended a FamilyLife preview event for the staff and "Friends of the Ministry." We would fall into the second category--just one of the many perks of membership at a church pastored by this guy.

It was soooo good. "The Art of Marriage" will be launched in February: 2-11-11.com  And I'm telling you right now. You.should.go.

This morning Saylor woke up, got herself dressed, and decided to "make" breakfast herself. Then she grabbed a piece of her artwork, calling it her newspaper, and sat down to eat and "read."

Late this afternoon we had a little shopping to do.

Accessories (and raisins, apparently) are a must!

Getting our Reverse Osmosis water.

Don't even think about it...Davidsons don't eat that stuff!  ;)

I've been a really rotten participant lately, as I have SEVERELY cut back on my blog reading for the time being. I'm doing my best to make it around to folks. But feel free to take over for me by checking out the links at Sara's. (See how I so easily admit defeat?)

  7. Oh don't feel bad, I've had a hard time popping around to everyone's blogs myself lately, so I feel ya!

Love the sky picture. It's really been that hot a lot at your house, huh? Our weather has been coolish and I'm wonderin' if we're gonna end up with everyone's heat in the fall. It's happened before, darn ole Indian Summers :)
